Oh my goodness

2019-09-13 15:35:34 UTC

That's his fault

2019-09-13 15:35:34 UTC

snowflakes are in every system man

2019-09-13 15:35:47 UTC

Just roll a new character
I've done that a few times

2019-09-13 15:35:59 UTC

yeah but muh character

2019-09-13 15:36:09 UTC

I thought my rogue would be mangled in the 2nd session of D&D 5e I ever played

2019-09-13 15:36:13 UTC

Warlock to Pally to Rogue to Barb to Bard to...

2019-09-13 15:36:25 UTC

And yeah, good intention but even with a group that used it I am guessing most players would feel pressure not to use it, even if everyone would be fine with it. Just because you're messing with the game. Easier to settle that with the DM beforehand. Some guys get down right creepy with how much they want to go on about how dark their world is.

2019-09-13 15:36:46 UTC

I'm doing a WW2 campaign

2019-09-13 15:36:47 UTC

So

2019-09-13 15:36:54 UTC

Dark shit is a thing

2019-09-13 15:37:18 UTC

yeah I agree, I would sit down with the group and figure out everyone's comfort zone in advance, that and like expectations for the adventure, it's basic gming

2019-09-13 15:37:20 UTC

and my Marvel Heroes RPG character got killed in the 2nd or 3rd session I played with him... but got revived don't ask me how or why

2019-09-13 15:37:21 UTC

The OSS (American precursor to CIA) is basically the Inquisition from 40K

2019-09-13 15:38:10 UTC

hm... I'm supposed to roll up a character for warhammer fantasy rpg

2019-09-13 15:38:21 UTC

I will do that... tomorrow

2019-09-13 15:38:25 UTC

Witch Hunter

2019-09-13 15:38:39 UTC

I kinda wanna play a halfling thief or sth similar

2019-09-13 15:38:55 UTC

I always go rogue in games *badam tsss*

2019-09-13 15:39:12 UTC

Nothing wrong with a dark world. or graphic content. WWII setting could be really interesting.

2019-09-13 15:39:21 UTC

Are you praying to Sigmar wrong?
Heresy!

2019-09-13 15:39:29 UTC

xD

2019-09-13 15:40:00 UTC

rogue is always fun, I've always wanted to play a sniper rogue with a crossbow or something

2019-09-13 15:40:33 UTC

Ranger does that better for the most part, but a scout rogue would be fun

2019-09-13 15:40:38 UTC

hey WW2 could be fun... playing as a german turncoat / resistance fighter would definitely be fun

2019-09-13 15:40:54 UTC

Lore bards do pretty well for being archers too.

2019-09-13 15:40:57 UTC

The germans are Lizardfolk

2019-09-13 15:41:37 UTC

I've habitually avoided ranger from how weak I heard it was

2019-09-13 15:41:52 UTC

Ranger is fun
Original 5e ranger is weak

2019-09-13 15:41:58 UTC

But revised ranger is a lot of fun

2019-09-13 15:42:20 UTC

so far I only played rogue and druid in 3.5... didn't have much chance to play rogue in 5e

2019-09-13 15:42:40 UTC

in 5e it's easier to get your sneaks which is good

2019-09-13 15:43:55 UTC

oh yeah... I killed some undead beast thanks to my sneak attack

2019-09-13 15:44:16 UTC

So
Now I have a question to the DM here
@TT
If pieces of dragons could be forged into weapons and armor like metal, could a Druid use armor made from forged dragon bits?

2019-09-13 15:45:21 UTC

if a druid can wear hide I don't see why they couldn't wear dragonscale, same principle imo

2019-09-13 15:46:04 UTC

Well
You can make plate out of this stuff by forging it
It works like a metal but comes from dragons

2019-09-13 15:47:08 UTC

if I was the GM, I would permit druids wearing dragonscale armor even if it was crafted into heavy armors like scale mail

2019-09-13 15:47:49 UTC

the principle is that druids don't like the fact that metal armors are unnatural

2019-09-13 15:48:05 UTC

Ok
That has been my current idea about how it will go
There's no druid in my party yet
But that seems to me to very much be a 'yet' with my party

2019-09-13 15:48:52 UTC

If it makes plate it can make scales/rings for armors that would count as medium. Just drop the effectiveness down to match from their dragon plate counterparts if that's a concern.

2019-09-13 15:49:59 UTC

yeah the thing about 5e is that I think it's mostly built around the balance of the numbers rather than the fluff, generally in these situations what I would do is use something "mechanically legal" and flavour it however I decide
