But greatswords and heavy weapons actually comboed in ways that didn't work until dark souls 3. Everything between des and ds3 had really chunky weapon swings

All the movesets are generalized to shit, one. The creative weapon designs all got nerfed to hell, and roll attacks and roll catches, don't work anymore.
