Unless you're a techno or mage then your brain is the equipment

2019-08-10 21:12:37 UTC

The biggest reason to value attribs more though
It's more expensive to get them up later

2019-08-10 21:12:48 UTC

Will attribute also matters a lot, it's pretty much always part of your drain/fade soak, good chunk of magic resist, affects composure (iirc), and a bunch of other miscellaneous things

2019-08-10 21:13:06 UTC

Which is the big reason I hate non-karma-buy chargen in shadowrun

2019-08-10 21:13:25 UTC

Punishes you for not minmaxing the fuck out of yourself at chargen

2019-08-10 21:13:28 UTC

Have you even seen the EXP buy

2019-08-10 21:13:59 UTC

Also Lifemods work decently well

2019-08-10 21:14:01 UTC

Yeah it's ~800, which actually lets you more easily be above-average compared to the priority system

2019-08-10 21:14:16 UTC

The only thing that's needed

2019-08-10 21:14:29 UTC

is you have to treat racial minimums as 1 instead of whatever they are

2019-08-10 21:14:35 UTC

otherwise nobody will ever play a troll or ork

2019-08-10 21:15:07 UTC

That's a problem with point buy too, point buy just hides it if they get their higher BOD/STR at chargen

2019-08-10 21:15:28 UTC

Haven't messed with lifemods

2019-08-10 21:15:43 UTC

She's, not a very techy character, and I'm not messing with Mods by and large.

2019-08-10 21:15:48 UTC

they're probably decent, since they're more generating a character through life story instead

2019-08-10 21:16:03 UTC

Are you doing this by hand or are you using chummer

2019-08-10 21:16:07 UTC

also is this 5e?

2019-08-10 21:17:17 UTC

Ok, so, Logic was orignially gonna be a 2, but I opted to lower it to make room to get Agility up to 5 so that my shooting stat would be maxed since it's a Pink Mowhawk game and I'm a very combat focused character, so this seemed like a less useful stat. And Logic seemed a lesser fit to a folksy country caracature character.

2019-08-10 21:17:19 UTC

also what exactly are you making? Non-techy think you mentioned adept.... going for melee, infiltration, or face? I'd normally also ask gun bunny but not techy leads me to believe that's a no out the gate

2019-08-10 21:17:20 UTC

This is 5E.

2019-08-10 21:17:26 UTC

Doing this by hand.

2019-08-10 21:17:30 UTC

ew

2019-08-10 21:17:30 UTC

Also LOG gets Armorer and Arcana as well as heals, demolitions, Academics, and Professionals

2019-08-10 21:17:32 UTC

dear god ew

2019-08-10 21:17:37 UTC

INT gets...

2019-08-10 21:18:02 UTC

Inititavie in a gun fight for a gun slinger, doesn't it?

2019-08-10 21:18:14 UTC

Stop killing yourself with by-hand in a crunch heavy system

2019-08-10 21:18:31 UTC

Wait you are going gunbunny adept?

2019-08-10 21:18:53 UTC

Navigation, tracking, perception, disguise, assensing, and artisan

2019-08-10 21:19:06 UTC

Assensing requires you to be able to astrally percieve

2019-08-10 21:19:15 UTC

unless you're spending a powerpoint on it adepts can't

2019-08-10 21:19:39 UTC

(unless you're dual natured via being a shapeshifter or similar, or you have DM saying nah I allow it)

2019-08-10 21:20:09 UTC

Also if you're dual natured you absolutely must take Dual Natured Defender or you're basically fucked as soon as someone casts mana barrier.

2019-08-10 21:20:40 UTC

Cause she's a COW girl, Minotuar, gun slinger, and I am RUNNING with every wild west steryotype I can, cause it's a Pink Mowhawk game.

Yeah I'm not doing anything Astral.

And, Duel Natured? What? I'm afraid you lost me.

Also, Chummer isn't Linux Compatible.

2019-08-10 21:21:25 UTC

Dual Natured means you're always astrally perceiving, most active critters are.

2019-08-10 21:21:32 UTC

But you're just a mino so you're not

2019-08-10 21:21:43 UTC

Unless you're perceiving

2019-08-10 21:21:45 UTC

ARTISAN AND ARMORER ARE VERY NOTABLE IF YOU INTEND TO MANUFACTURE ITEMS!!

Artisans can reproduce goods that you'd see in a wal-mart, while armorers make all manner of gun/sword/armor/etc. BOTH of these require Knowledge skills, and BOTH rely on professional skills (logic) for the manufacture of blueprints.

2019-08-10 21:21:47 UTC

which would cost a thing

2019-08-10 21:22:10 UTC

1 whole PP too, it's kinda expensive but you need it in some contexts. Sounds like you won't though
