not sure how concrete this is
it's a two way thing
increase in temperature causes permafrost to melt and the organic matter within to decompose, releasing CO2 into the atmosphere
but CO2 is also a greenhouse gas so CO2 increases can increase global temperature
they don't increase it directly, and that's a very important point to make
the increase in CO2 and subsequent temperature increase causes an increase in water vapour, which is a much stronger greenhouse gas
of course, this doesn't mean all the predictions are correct
just that a slamm change in CO2 can be amplified by water
_ _
and if you look back at the temperature record, you find that there are times where each case is true
sometimes temperature precedes CO2, others CO2 precedes temperature
because CO2 isn't the only factor in the universe
there's also the increase in amount of plants due to co2
ye but plants don't affect global warming
they have little net input or output of CO2
they do affect local climate though
in a roundabout way
also stupid question
how does sea level rise if the ice sitting on the water melts
the north pole has no landmass
it's less dense than the water so volume doesn't matter in the same way
and it already displaces the amount of water it contains more or less
Here's a great debate on Guns and their effects in the US
well
you see, mach
More Guns = Less Crime
you fucking moron
there's a tiny little sliver of land
CALLED GREENLAND
which is close enough that it has glaciers and shit on it
then there's also antarctica
which is mostly land
yeah but antarctic isn't melting much
it's actually growing iirc
the thing with greenland is it will be sudden
there are colossal meltwater lakes that would go all at once
they would also potentially disrupt the ocean's currents but that's another story
just did the math
