i think a lot of thing can be done well with that approach

2019-08-02 22:42:12 UTC

This is why State Capitalism > Minarchy

2019-08-02 22:43:06 UTC

i'm not a fan of state owned business tho

2019-08-02 22:43:19 UTC

ie state monopolies

2019-08-02 22:44:24 UTC

though i can agree that there needs to be more than just the military, police and courts

2019-08-02 22:45:00 UTC

how about

2019-08-02 22:45:04 UTC

Megarchy

2019-08-02 22:45:07 UTC

dab

2019-08-02 22:45:22 UTC

I meant the role of State can be used for breaking monopolies and allowing proper competition

2019-08-02 22:45:43 UTC

oh i 100% agree with that

2019-08-02 22:45:59 UTC

i hate monopiles and the lack of competition

2019-08-02 22:46:40 UTC

DEF: State capitalism is an economic system in which the state undertakes commercial economic activity and where the means of production are organized and managed as state-owned business enterprises

2019-08-02 22:46:58 UTC

This is why you cannot have reasonable competition in the tech industry and simultaneously have IP laws

2019-08-02 22:47:22 UTC

Either abolish IP laws, or have some provisions by which states can break such monopolies

2019-08-02 22:47:42 UTC

Yeah, I was using State Capitalism in a loose way

2019-08-02 22:48:16 UTC

well i think IP are fine but i don't think they should last so long

2019-08-02 22:48:40 UTC

if Ip laws didn't exist the would be massive problems

2019-08-02 22:48:55 UTC

Yeah, I agree that IP laws are necessary

2019-08-02 22:48:59 UTC

drugs for a example cost billions to create

2019-08-02 22:49:12 UTC

if ip laws weren't there people could just steal them

2019-08-02 22:49:15 UTC

But it also hinders the ability of another Google or FB to pop up

2019-08-02 22:49:18 UTC

In a reasonable time

2019-08-02 22:49:36 UTC

And hence creates dis balance when they attain monopoly

2019-08-02 22:49:53 UTC

Such as what we are seeing currently with the mass censorship

2019-08-02 22:50:04 UTC

didn't the us government force a tech company to sell their tech to other companies

2019-08-02 22:50:05 UTC

And resultant effects on elections which it will have

2019-08-02 22:50:28 UTC

>didn't the us government force a tech company to sell the tech to other companies

Idk about that

2019-08-02 22:50:42 UTC

i think there was a case with comcast or something

2019-08-02 22:52:08 UTC

maybe not comcast i don't remember the name i heard it somewhere

2019-08-02 22:52:32 UTC

Why does it have to be just a border wall? why not also have above and underground bullet train system? Similar to Elon Musk's California tunnels. The train system can help people go to work at a neighboring state, or flee California fires or Texas hurricanes. Capitalizing it can also be factored in, Amazon could have their own train line, science organizations and companies could experiment with a highly advanced bullet train tech. New Jobs could be made... Possibilities.

2019-08-02 22:53:30 UTC

Or militarized it?

2019-08-02 22:54:36 UTC

i'm not against other systems being privatized like the border wall in the sense of governments giving contracts and what not

2019-08-02 22:54:56 UTC

but money is a big issues when the us in like 22.5T in debt

2019-08-02 22:55:40 UTC

things that can reduce the cost of other things sound better to me

2019-08-02 22:55:58 UTC

Unless private companies pool their investments on nation wide project like that. That would mean becoming a anonarcho capitalizing country

2019-08-02 22:56:47 UTC

private companies have the money elon musks one would be a great idea though i don't think government should be paying for it

2019-08-02 22:57:07 UTC

Hmm shame

2019-08-02 22:57:22 UTC

kind of like how to subway was first created by private business

2019-08-02 22:57:37 UTC

Guess we'll never see a 200 mile long strip mall

2019-08-02 22:57:45 UTC

lol
