That's not an iron cross. If anything, it's more of a Teutonic cross. The clue is in the thickness of the center joint—on the Iron Cross, it's considerably thicker.

The Iron Cross pre dates the Nazis and isn't much recognized like the Roman Salute or Swastika, so using it shouldn't be a problem anyway
