although
Yeah, same.
I've had periods of 2 to 3 years in my early 20's with zero dreams of any kind
then a bout of nightmares
In most dreams, I'm not myself. Rather, I'm some sort of character in a story.
then a bout of lucid dreams
I'm always myself in mine
Of course, I've legitimately had moments in dreams that inspire plot points in stories I'm writing.
this one person had sound advice
get a giant piece of paper with your living area/city/state/continent
and start mapping your dreams
ofcourse
Nah.
My dreams are far too silly to map like that.
If I could somehow hook up a machine to record my dreams on some form of video format, I'd make epic bank selling them.
this won't work if you ahve no idea where you are in your dreams
I worked long ago to have and maintain lucid dreams.
My dreams are far too entertaining, on the whole, to want to mess with the format. So I've never really bothered to do things like take "dream enhancers" (i.e. St. John's Wort) or learn to lucid dream.
Mostly let the narrative flow, because it's my mind attempt to consolidate past or predicted events with other possibilities.
I do take Omega 3s.
it's doing somethhing but not enough imo
Yeah, straight-up fish oil.
I learned it because child-me entertained the Venom Spiderman arch of the 90s far too seriously.
I take it for other reasons, though.
the best way to control a lucid dream is to stay calm but good luck lol
And my dreamscape is the one place where I have absolute control.
yesterday my mind was so confounded my head started hurting for a solid 30 seconds
during the nap I had
and the very short lived lucid dream
My life is so boring, I look forward to the inspired chaos of my dreamscapes.
I can feel my left lobe surging with immense electrical activity as stupid and retarded as that sounds
I got way too excited yesterday
usually I fair better with lucid dreams
take it easy and fly away
not yesterday
maybe the heat fucked me
Thing is, I used to dream increadibly vividly, before I started on my current medications in '06. The trade-off was worth it, because it helped me level out, but since then I've been slowly but surely getting my dream powers back.
ehhh
for me regular vivid dreams are more rare
