the foolish pride of post soviet spectres are still lurking
my god look at thhat thing
I bet the american and chinks have thheir own variants
that explosion vid is pretty impressive
that looks like a scram jet nuclear suborbital ship
some sci fi shit righht there
I need a bigger picture of that
it looks nice
Apparently it was a nuclear powered cruise missile which American's gave up on because it didn't really make sense.
i would assume it's hahrd to keep the thign stable without water
unless it's some inner water closedloop system
that uses airflow to cool
Fuel efficiency is so good now that wanting to power it with a nuclear reactor, it's pretty pointless and needlessly risky.
well if it malfuctions in suborbital space and reentries
We have drones that fly for 24hr on just regular jet fuel.
you noow have a GOD ROD even if the warhead doesn't detonate
even if the engine itself doesnt go critical
lol
Yea, this cruise missile seemed high risk low reward.
Just putin flexing his millitary.
it's a killer no matter what
they tried this shit with planes
yea, it's a silly idea for a missle.
Soviets had a nuclear bomber plane if I remember right.
theys till do, not nuclear powered tho
They decommissioned it because the radiation was too high for the pilots.
lol
Not to mention the lead shielding that was there was already heavy af.
I wish to make my own RTG battery but I have to bury it 20 km in the earth crust
never pay for electricity ever again
hehe
But only communist russia could accurately and appropriately solve the nuclear crisis, dont you know comrade
Nah, the drones that last long are also quite slow. And the current long range missiles can't really maneuver much.
The ones with flat trajectory can, but those don't have the range
Main reason why it wasn't pursued was probably that there was basically no way to defend against ballistic missiles.
Which is no longer the case.
Which means, that nuclear powered missiles now have a purpose.
it's almost a carboncopy of the US variant
but who can blame them
