Could happen.
I know.
I dont think that runway is long enough
And I looked it up.
Or wide enough
And it happened.
Shit really?
What kind of circumnstance led to a c130 landing on a fucking carrier?
Apparently 21 times with full stop landings, too.
I dont think it can take off, though
I refuse to believe that's enough runway for whats essentially a flying cargo tank to get enough speed for a take off
Took off 21 times, as well.
Yeah.
I didn't believe it, either. XD
That makes me wonder what in god's name makes the F117 unsuitable for carrier use
Well, just because they *could* do it.. and, apparently fairly reliably, they didn't sanction it as a normal course of duty.
The more cargo its carrying the more inertia to stop
Naturally.
Isnt there a thing about dumping excess fuel to reduce mass for a landing?
In cases where the runway is too small?
I'm no pilot, but I believe there is the option for emergency landings.
If you gotta land somewhere not ideal
You gotta make it ideal
Well, ideal *enough*.
As ideal as you can for an emergency landing
In what can be too small a runway for your plane size
All this plane talk is reminding me of superman returns though
When a plane carries a spaceshuttle
... Oh the video didn't work...
Is the shuttle usually fueled?
Like
That seems a bit dumb
It'd make more sense to fuel on site?
this is the meme channel, move this over to temple of vee
If you have the fuel in the shuttle thats EVEN MORE WEIGHT for the plane to carry
