Weird.

2019-10-10 18:06:21 UTC

We are not exclusively one

2019-10-10 18:06:23 UTC

we're not a "direct democracy" that doesn't give one leave to just say "we're not a democracy"

2019-10-10 18:06:34 UTC

Good so Socialism/Communism all falls into shit ^_-

2019-10-10 18:06:49 UTC

Cause generalization.

2019-10-10 18:07:03 UTC

i mean i think the term "a democracy" is silly

2019-10-10 18:07:04 UTC

fuck your editable documents and fuck you.

2019-10-10 18:07:12 UTC

because it implies that the demos is in charge

2019-10-10 18:07:16 UTC

People use the term Democracy when talking about the US because they want everyone to forget about the Judiciary and the Executive have equal power to the Congress so they can bypass Constitutional protections. The only way to describe the US Government is a Republic which implies it is Democratic.

2019-10-10 18:07:38 UTC

We are a representative democracy and constitutional republic. Both. not either-or

2019-10-10 18:07:38 UTC

i shouldve clarified that i meant direct democracy earlier too.

2019-10-10 18:07:43 UTC

kinda just forgot

2019-10-10 18:08:08 UTC

Anyone with enough wrinkles could figure that out @W1NT3R1SC0MING

2019-10-10 18:08:20 UTC

well clearly we are lacking in wrinkles

2019-10-10 18:08:20 UTC

The Democracy wikipedia page is locked.

2019-10-10 18:08:24 UTC

It can't be edited

2019-10-10 18:08:28 UTC

Unless you're authorized.

2019-10-10 18:08:36 UTC

You still need to explain to me why it's wrong

2019-10-10 18:08:40 UTC

And you're right in this case

2019-10-10 18:08:49 UTC

posting the same article over and over doesn't make it more relevant to the conversation

2019-10-10 18:08:49 UTC

in the case of the US being a direct democracy?

2019-10-10 18:08:52 UTC

And why all the sources at the bottom are wrong and you, with none are right?

2019-10-10 18:08:55 UTC

we literally arent thats how

2019-10-10 18:08:56 UTC

the executive is chosen based on democratic procedure and the judiciary is appointed by democratically elected officials

2019-10-10 18:08:58 UTC
2019-10-10 18:09:01 UTC

That wasn't being debated

2019-10-10 18:09:03 UTC

pretty "democratic"

2019-10-10 18:09:29 UTC

well tbf the executive of the US is chosen through a more federalistic manner

2019-10-10 18:09:38 UTC

Well judges would probably be the least Democratic at the federal levels and states where they aren't elected.

2019-10-10 18:10:42 UTC

But thank God we don't elect Federal judges

2019-10-10 18:10:54 UTC

yeah that'd kinda be a shitshow

2019-10-10 18:10:55 UTC

for better or worse

2019-10-10 18:11:00 UTC

That and we have those in power and influence not elected into their positions.

2019-10-10 18:11:07 UTC

federal judges are appointed by democratically elected officials though

2019-10-10 18:11:29 UTC

do I need to go over why that doesn't mean dick, again?

2019-10-10 18:11:34 UTC

Indirectly it is, but it's not a Democratic process in itself.

2019-10-10 18:12:49 UTC

people are making decisions by virtue of having been empowered by the process

2019-10-10 18:13:22 UTC

If you wanted the appointment process to be more Democratic the judges would be chosen by the people for review instead of the President

2019-10-10 18:13:46 UTC

But that would remove the checks and balances
