Greta overreacted a bit too much when crying
But she's right on climte change though
She's a puppet being used by her parents to push their politics
And Sargon rightly pointed out the whole not going to school thing she's pushing directly contradicts her "I should be in school" shtick
I think using children to push political shit is universally shitty
Me too, but climate change is important
to adress
I think climate change is apolitical
I mean it's not like people have said we would all die from climate change at a date that has already passed
At dates*
There's already been so many doomsday predictions that it's becoming harder and harder for me to believe it
true
there was one around 1920
Scientists know a lot more than the general public. They dont make predictions like "we're all gonna die in 50 years". They just measure climate change and its potential effects on animal life and nature.
they were saying the arctic would be gone soon
yeah but scientists are humans and subject to bias and innacuracies
they said the arctic would melt by the 1930s
MOst scientists in the IPCC arent biased
then they said the world was going to freeze over in the 1970's
Weren't we also supposed to all drown in like 2014
miami should be underwater according to the climate model
the model has never been right
Scientists who are bankrolled by oil companies like you are biased, but thats a minority
I believe that climate change is real but the hysteria over it is just ridicolous
don't make claims of bankrolling
there's money on all sides
there's money in pushing for green energy
Theres a lot more fossil fuel money than green energy
you don't think rare earth mining companies and solar manufacturers benefit from climate change?
And it could be used for nefarious purposes
but money doesn't change facts either
i'm not funded by oil companies
but it's clear that no one really has a firm grasp of how fast the planet is warming
I don't deny that it is
because it *should* be warming
even without humans
the question is how much effect have we had

Eh whatever the case I'll probably live to see it and the boomers won't
lobbying is just paying the mafia your protection money
