I definitely agree man. Ideally we would all realize what time we waste with religion and if we invested Into transhumanism and crispr and the technology we have now, (mind blowing tech in such a short period of time consider humanity’s timeline) we could one day master the cosmos and truly be able to decide our own fate. But I will say, I think for the time being, religion does hold a necessary purpose in that it keeps a lot of people pacified. The prospect of no paradise or heaven or hell or god and no inherent meaning is terrifying to most. So in the meantime it keeps people from dissolving into nihilistic dystopia
