In France (my country) for example, the president is more powerful than any other "democratic" country. This role was created for a man of power, a man of letters, a man with a vision, full of integrity and all the qualities we can imagine for a leader, it was designed for the Général De Gaulle. No one since the general has managed to fit perfectly into the role of this super-president.
I think such a man comes once in a century, you can't create a political establishment with the idea that only one man every century will succeed in leading it.
