The point of fascism is the last resort for the capitalists to maintain their class antagonisms and base

Fascism is used by the bourgeoisie to turn the proletariat onto themselves. This, in a sense, removed the ideas of revolution from their mind, as they were not looking at the true enemy that is the bourgeoisie, but were instead looking at ethnic groups, religions, genders, etc., or other nations as their enemy.

In its last breaths, capitalism will try to turn the working class against itself, creating an enemy for them, other than the bourgeoisie who will perish with the death of capitalism; that way capitalism can build up its strength once more with the force of the proletariat being directed elsewhere, thus prolonging the days before revolution is able to occur and the bourgeoisie can be overthrown.
