I have nothing against having smaller, niche, affinity-group-esque servers, but that's not what you mean is it?
I personally blame Snow for giving away power to losers
it's basically a affinity group of gay sounds shitposting and philosophy
Send us invite in this chat pls
But you offered me a mod position without knowing anything about me first, didn't you? 🤔
Yep
We have some trial time inside
I guess that's not necessarily inconsistent.
We have a long trial time
<#308950154222895104> and <#308995540782284817> seem redundant at the moment
Maybe rename <#308950154222895104> to <#308995540782284817> and ~~remove~~ archive this channel.
is of English <#308995540782284817> while <#308950154222895104> is multi-language
@Firefly tbh I think productive inter-server diplomacy would be more achievable than one big server
@(import (srfi 151)) Well, how about me being banned on every leftypol offshoot while nobody is banned in here?
How do we do diplomacy in this case?
All I ask for is cooperation and mutual aid
Well, maybe that wasn't very well thought out.
Never mind, I should put my own ideas into practice instead of trying to change yours.
I support diplomatic approach. I'm in favor of your ideas
Already
It's not a very fleshed out idea, but I was thinking maybe we could try starting a federation of smaller servers that each have their own focus, talents, and abilities to contribute to a greater cause.
@(import (srfi 151)) why have a separate server for it?
Why not organize it on one server for everybody?
@Firefly ease of moderation, more of a sense of having an independent group in a symbiotic relationship with a greater whole
It's not a perfect analogue, but conceptually it wouldn't be very much different from the Union of Soviet Socialist Channels
I'm not sure if this is still something anyone identifies with. https://unitedchans.fandom.com/wiki/USSC
Also as an anarkiddie the affinity group + general assembly model of organization just really appeals to me.
Well, I can't really explain logically why sense of a symbolic relationship is pointless as it appeals to people with feels.
I'm looking more into things like results
goals
tactics
Imagine trying to start a revolution without considering feels.
Feels come and go.
Logic and result stay
@Firefly I think this explains what I want better. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affinity_group#Organization
@(import (srfi 151)) what is the political goal of it?
@Firefly the abolishment of capitalism, of course
And how this is done through an affinity group?
Direct action.
Like what?
