They want to do the ritual one time a year

2019-05-30 05:03:53 UTC

and live in echo chamber the rest of the time

2019-05-30 05:04:01 UTC

Anyways, do you think we should work harder to be a positive force in people's everyday lives?

2019-05-30 05:05:11 UTC

Classical Marxist approach is to not waist time on the personal private surrounding and engage with common for all problems and goals like overthrowing capitalism, freeing the prols

2019-05-30 05:05:40 UTC

Working for surrounding peoples life is a waist of a good comrade

2019-05-30 05:05:51 UTC

True, but you gotta build momentum somehow.

2019-05-30 05:06:09 UTC

Gotta walk before you can run, no?

2019-05-30 05:07:01 UTC

Momentum is build through an organization of a Party or periodicals.

2019-05-30 05:07:16 UTC

Another momentum is build by capitalism itself

2019-05-30 05:07:22 UTC

Is two momentums

2019-05-30 05:07:43 UTC

There's plenty of periodicals already… I'm not sure if the quantity makes much difference.

2019-05-30 05:07:57 UTC

As conscious comrades we build a subjective momentum

2019-05-30 05:08:07 UTC

Plenty doesn't mean they work

2019-05-30 05:08:14 UTC

We need just one that works

2019-05-30 05:08:28 UTC

I take that back. Breadtube deserves some credit.

2019-05-30 05:08:36 UTC

If you have million of non-working periodicals we still need one working

2019-05-30 05:09:24 UTC

Though I'm still not sure how insulur the leftist YouTube space is.

2019-05-30 05:11:21 UTC

Means TV is more demsoc maybe, but I think buying (actually, I think it was given to them, but we might not be so lucky) the channel that uploaded the original Nyan Cat meme in order to have a normal general audience was a smart move.

2019-05-30 05:12:43 UTC

Youtube channel is a good way to connect with the masses

2019-05-30 05:13:21 UTC

I've been working for some large political youtube channel before

2019-05-30 05:13:30 UTC

I think to make my own soon

2019-05-30 05:14:33 UTC

Could we maybe just buy YouTube channels and upload agitprop? You know, buying the rope to hang them with?

2019-05-30 05:15:34 UTC

It is easier to make it popular really. If you have okay content you'll have followers as content base for left-wing in the western world is limited

2019-05-30 05:15:52 UTC

So any passable content will do

2019-05-30 05:16:06 UTC

You'll have audience

2019-05-30 05:16:18 UTC

Is not hard to get audience

2019-05-30 05:16:27 UTC

Is hard to keep up the good content

2019-05-30 05:16:32 UTC

Yeah but they need to know they want it first.

2019-05-30 05:18:23 UTC

Not necessarily. Some vloggers just publishing good content and people follow/subscribe and keep watching. Advertisement is easy. Like I did promotions for that political channel I've been talking about and it was easy

2019-05-30 05:18:33 UTC

Good content = easy advertisement

2019-05-30 05:18:46 UTC

Though something I like seeing lately is the exploitation of "pipelines". Jim Stirling is a video games -> leftism pipeline, Contrapoints and Philosophy Tube are an acting -> Leftism pipeline, Jack Saint and Big Joel are a movie critic -> leftism pipeline, etc.

2019-05-30 05:18:49 UTC

Bad content = nothing will help

2019-05-30 05:19:37 UTC

What are pipelines?

2019-05-30 05:20:00 UTC

The alt right already have this down to an art, so it's good to see we're catching up.

2019-05-30 05:21:14 UTC

For example, in the current YouTube meta there's kinda a gaming -> right wing and skeptic -> right wing pipeline right now.

2019-05-30 05:21:41 UTC

Especially since the YouTube algorithm often associates them as similar content.

2019-05-30 05:22:26 UTC

For that we have to have a lot of channels and yes it's helpful but absolutely not critical if we don't have it.

2019-05-30 05:22:51 UTC

Creating unique content is critical

2019-05-30 05:23:05 UTC

It doesn't really have to be a lot though. One good one can suffice if it's accepted as a fresh perspective.

2019-05-30 05:23:40 UTC

Again, Jim Stirling is a shining light in the "video games journalism" crowd.
