But adapted to the Roman scutum
Scutum is the shield
this is more accurate than gladiator
BTW now I'm studying gladiators, they are actually pretty cool
Did you know that there were woman gladiators aswell?
@Mtaddict in that film ..the boots that has the soles of a modern boot was invented..laying there in one scene
its a tv show
but yeh mistakes happen all the time on set
@Koningin Van Italië that's cool...I just more was into the Greek side
Well i can tell you something about that aswell
In fact the Roman gladiator traditions is splitter in 2: west and east
have you guys seen spartacus the show
Alexander the great is my favorite and Achilles
is not realistic but fun asf to watch
In the west part of the empire gladiator often represented wars or soldiers, this can be seen in their Graves
While in the east they mostly represented myths and the epic litterature
LOL You aunt saw it damn
@Magneto ✌ and other fun fact. There is a recorder match between 2 female gladiators called respectively "Amazone(Amazon) and Achillia(female Achille)"
naaah its not grounded at all to be GOT
Watch Rome TV Show its actually what hnelped GOT get made
is really good
@Koningin Van Italië that sounds cool...the Amazon's also amazed me especially the myths circling around them especially the Queen of them whom achillis had to take her belt
Amazon's were the top of Roman erotic litterature and culture
lmao
@Mtaddict I will actually check it out..it looks cool In the link u showed already
@Koningin Van Italië it seems that Rome took a heck alot of Greek vibes lol
Yeah but Romans took a lot from etruschians aswell
They were cool though...I saw some drawing of one if their soldiers it looks really cool @Koningin Van Italië
The first gladiators were etruschians and the whole gladiator tradition until the 1/2 century was really similar to the etruschian
1/2 century bc
Fun fact: not all gladiators were slaves
In fact, a little part was made of volunteers
Both males and females
Mostly males of the lowest social classes
Did they use gladiators in the army ?
No
Why not
And that was a shame because they actually had a really similar Training
