I mean, some more statistically minded friends of mine would agree with that notion
But I’m not good with numbers
So...what about the people that work hard but don’t end up achieving things?
They should work harder
Or people who don’t work at all that gain quite a lot?
Everyone that gains alot either started from the bottom or someone else did and passed on wealth to them
I’m not sure I agree
some people start off with significant advantages
And that’s not even taking into account sex and race discrimination
And,take for example
Yes because someone in their family worked hard
Jeff Bezos
His workers work like slaves
They make comparatively little
Considering he’s the richest man alive but doesn’t do much physical labor
That's how capitalism works
Ain’t that unethical then?
At least a little bit?
It's not about ethics
I disagree
For example
We have a duty to remove unethical systems
Capitalism is an ethical system
Therefore capitalism should be removed
Do we have that duty?
I would say so
Do you personally free child laborers?
Capitalism isn’t a meritocracy
No
But
I lack the ability to
You can’t say I ought to do something that I can’t do
If I had the ability to then I morally would be obligated to
So we should be vigilantes and fight every unfair system?
Depends if you think violence is justified
I could say that I am moraly opposed to abortion, should I burn down abortion clinics?
I never specified violent removal
You could vote out capitalism
And abortion clinics also provide a number of other health services so you’d be causing more harm than good
What economic system would be ethical?
Like,more ethical? Or perfectly ethical?
Either
