2021-02-22 06:24:01 UTC

so i have this idea floating around

2021-02-22 06:24:06 UTC

I'm here.

2021-02-22 06:26:01 UTC

basically what happens is that following a massive war between Humanity and a similarly advanced Alien species, both sides are devastated with multiple worlds, and even entire systems are destroyed or gone missing, so yeah, similar to Warhammer

2021-02-22 06:26:59 UTC

Alrighty.

2021-02-22 06:27:12 UTC

Keep going, you have my interest.

2021-02-22 06:28:39 UTC

I'm still trying to flesh out some of the details, but i have an idea of how most warfare is conducted where the story takes place

2021-02-22 06:30:31 UTC

Sorry I'm beebopping around my apartment trying to get some stuff done, so it might take me a little bit to respond. So you have a central location, ( a planet?) where this story is taking place. What's the planet (or location) like?

2021-02-22 06:31:34 UTC

te story itself will take place a good number of years after the conflict, but it isnt exactly peaceful

2021-02-22 06:32:35 UTC

the planet is a radioactive ashen wasteland on the surface, dotted only by massive fortifications leftover from the war and occupied by the various Warlords on the planet

2021-02-22 06:32:57 UTC

the name of which, was lost when the planet was "lost" in the conflict

2021-02-22 06:33:39 UTC

So we're kind of looking at a Mad Max storyline within a wider universe in which other story arcs can take place.

2021-02-22 06:33:50 UTC

basically yes,

2021-02-22 06:34:01 UTC

Or, fallout, or any other Post-apocalyptic scenario.

2021-02-22 06:34:38 UTC

but instead of cars, its these massive Artillery fortresses with weapons capable of striking targets many miles away

2021-02-22 06:36:32 UTC

Ok, so it may not even be immediatly recognizable as post apocalyptic. Like, you could have a bunch of people sitting in a trench, and the viewer kind of thinks "Alright, so we're looking at World War One." But, no, actually, you're not even looking at Planet Earth.

2021-02-22 06:36:43 UTC

yeah

2021-02-22 06:37:27 UTC

the "soldiers" and "officers" look similar to ww1, but as you look closer, you could be anywhere but Earth

2021-02-22 06:37:57 UTC

Sweet.

2021-02-22 06:40:02 UTC

Keep going, I am here.

2021-02-22 06:41:01 UTC

The story for now, follows a young conscript name "Fitzgerald" who fights for the warlord, "General" Morganstein, who controls a chunk of land around the size of China, along with the 5 Fortresses withing that land

2021-02-22 06:41:50 UTC

note that i use the word "general" in the loosest definition possible here

2021-02-22 06:42:22 UTC

Yeah, it's not exactly as if the word has any meaning after the planet has fallen to anarchy.

2021-02-22 06:42:47 UTC

In this case it would mean "Somebody with a lot of guns and soldiers."

2021-02-22 06:43:12 UTC

Its not like they can exactly call for help for the rest of Humanity either

2021-02-22 06:44:37 UTC

due to the weapons that were unleashed in the system, pretty much all the planets in the blast were reduced to smoldering wastelands, with some, our main one included, being shrouded in these massive storms, the likes of which prevent any sort of signal, from leaving the planet

2021-02-22 06:45:22 UTC

its also these same storms and such that prevent technology like Energy shields from working

2021-02-22 06:46:35 UTC

Out of curiosity, did you read the Marvel Substitute story that was pinned?

2021-02-22 06:46:56 UTC

Well, more like "Substitute Setting" really.

2021-02-22 06:46:59 UTC

no i did not actually

2021-02-22 06:47:41 UTC

Ah. Well, my current storyline is taking place on Earth. But that setting also has a wider galaxy to it.

2021-02-22 06:47:48 UTC

interesting

2021-02-22 06:48:34 UTC

There's the Federation and the Confederacy, which are relatively reasonable hubs of civilization. But they often don't get along. And then there are....the unreasonables.

2021-02-22 06:49:33 UTC

And this has something to do with where you're coming from, but it takes a little bit to explain.

2021-02-22 06:50:54 UTC

So: Every (not every, but close enough) evil fantasy race that's ever been thought up, they're all lumped together on one side. Goblins, hobgoblins, bugbears, orcs, Drow, Duergar, harpies...all of it.

2021-02-22 06:51:17 UTC

But you wouldn't recognize them as such.

2021-02-22 06:52:47 UTC

Because they're wearing organic...armor? More like Pressure suits, really. Because they're not so much concerned that their troops take a whole lot of hits, but they consider it absolutely critical that their troops get into the fight. So these organic pressure suits don't cost virtually anything to make, but they allow them to fight even in hard vacum.

2021-02-22 06:54:03 UTC

Damn

2021-02-22 06:54:16 UTC

Anywho. Point being, there's a whole lot of room for your planet in said universe, if you would like to work something out. But if not, I understand.

2021-02-22 06:54:42 UTC

Actually I’m kinda interested
