I’ll find a way

2021-02-12 18:10:56 UTC

Lol

2021-02-12 18:11:14 UTC

Idk why no one has tried this

2021-02-12 18:11:25 UTC

Just build parts for your customers

2021-02-12 18:11:34 UTC

Prob a few people who have tried to start one

2021-02-12 18:11:45 UTC

Let them make what they want to fit their needs

2021-02-12 18:11:46 UTC

Would be super cool if you could

2021-02-12 18:12:41 UTC

And build it to last

2021-02-12 18:12:48 UTC

Ooh I think LTT did a review on a Linux based smartphone that you could physically block mic, camera, data, stuff like that

2021-02-12 18:13:30 UTC

But if I were you I would try android since it's open source and all that, and much more advanced

2021-02-12 18:13:40 UTC

You could still do the stuff you want I think

2021-02-12 18:14:02 UTC

Yeah I’m thinking about a pixel 3 or 4

2021-02-12 18:14:12 UTC

That would be cool

2021-02-12 18:14:34 UTC

But when you make your own you can use Android as well I think

2021-02-12 18:14:55 UTC

Since you prob won't be designing software, only the hardware, right?

2021-02-12 18:15:06 UTC

Correct

2021-02-12 18:15:37 UTC

I need to find some technical friends and see what’s possible

2021-02-12 18:17:43 UTC

I'd start out with plastic first, see what you could do with that, and then try moving to metal frames like most flagships are

2021-02-12 18:18:03 UTC

Working metal would be too expensive I think

2021-02-12 18:18:15 UTC

To start out with I mean

2021-02-12 19:20:27 UTC

@ThiccTomato I heard there was a Linux based phone that is/will be coming out but don’t quote me on that.

2021-02-12 19:20:54 UTC

I’m probably gonna get a pixel 4 and de google it

2021-02-12 19:21:07 UTC

Good luck :)

2021-02-12 19:21:25 UTC

Pretty sure Linux can be downloaded

2021-02-12 19:31:03 UTC

Yeah

2021-02-12 19:31:33 UTC

As long as I have discord I’ll be good

2021-02-12 19:38:00 UTC

If you want to customize it to that point, make sure the phone is easy to root. Ik some phones are basically impossible to, but if you get a phone that's fairly easy to root it wouldn't be hard to degoogle it

2021-02-12 19:38:41 UTC

I've never looked into pixel phones so I have no clue whether they root easy or not, just giving you a caution to look into that stuff xd

2021-02-12 19:41:28 UTC

I’ve been looking into it all day lol

2021-02-12 19:41:36 UTC

ah good xD

2021-02-12 19:41:42 UTC

And pixel is the main one they use

2021-02-12 19:41:46 UTC

I see

2021-02-12 19:41:48 UTC

makes sense

2021-02-12 19:42:16 UTC

my bro got a moto g6 for that very purpose but has yet to root it, and has had it for almost 2 years now xD

2021-02-12 19:42:35 UTC

he'll prob root it after he gets a new one so he gets the experience

2021-02-12 19:43:07 UTC

I see

2021-02-12 19:45:41 UTC

wonder how easy it would be to root my old s7 🤔

2021-02-12 19:46:01 UTC

once I get my sim card switched to my new phone I'm planning to try

2021-02-12 19:46:37 UTC

well its old enought for there to probably be many hacks

2021-02-12 19:47:16 UTC

in theory yeah

2021-02-12 19:47:37 UTC

*proceeds to install ChromeOS on phone*
