they will never be as good as they once were unfortunately

2021-02-19 05:32:52 UTC

they’ve grown old

2021-02-19 05:32:59 UTC

and became a dad band

2021-02-19 05:33:28 UTC

I like the guitar for Moth into Flame

2021-02-19 05:33:38 UTC

but singing is cheesy

ride the lightning gang

Hardwired has clearly superior production, but it's instrumentation is inferior to Death Magnetic. I liken the album to be the love child of Kill 'Em All and Load. It's lyrics are also not cheesy. I would never think that revenge, burden, murder, insanity, and so on are *boring* topics. Those are far from being included in a 'dad band' as you say. Dad bands don't put out songs like *All Nightmare Long* or *Spit Out The Bone*. While they will never be as fast as they once were, that does not mean their songs lack character or groove. James' singing is also just not cheesy, he has aged super well. We all would love old James, but that would come at the cost of losing his great voice. He does a damn fine job pushing it as far as he can tho

his voice has lost his raspiness

2021-02-19 13:09:50 UTC

the lyrics aren’t cheesy

2021-02-19 13:10:14 UTC

but the rhythm and beat of his singing seems off

2021-02-19 13:37:28 UTC

I beg to differ.

^while its a simple one, I think it ties into the album really well. The album's title track is about society falling to tyranny and corruption, much like from a scene out of 1984, and in certain renditions of 1984, very similar art work is used.

kinda hearkens back to what a lot of communist propaganda looked like, I think,

2021-02-19 13:54:30 UTC

"I remember dreaming not so long ago
The change was gonna come, I still had hope
How long must I keep waiting, feeling so ignored
Is anything worth saving anymore?
I just don't know
But need you so
Don't let us fall again
We can't fight this on our own
Who'll save us in the end
Have we lost our last hero?
Tyrants overtaking intoxicate with lies
There is no escaping, not this time
The simple man receiving, defending every crime
Somehow still believing they are right
So hypnotized" - Section taken from The Last Hero

2021-02-19 18:11:33 UTC

Because I believe there are more than a handful of classic rock fans here... What is your favorite Who song? Which one is the most underrated or underappreciated?

2021-02-19 19:03:14 UTC

*sarcasm intensifies*
"Bon Jovi!!!"

2021-02-19 19:04:43 UTC

fr though, metalica metalica is probably my favorite album from that era, and my favorite song off it would probably have to be "holier than thou" or "nothing else matters"

2021-02-19 19:05:01 UTC

hbu?

2021-02-19 19:05:22 UTC

Probably a cover

2021-02-20 01:12:37 UTC

Saxon started to go a little radio friendly, I like wheels of steel and denim and leather more, but it’s still a good album

2021-02-20 01:14:08 UTC

I like those albums better to. I just like the crusader album cover

2021-02-20 01:14:50 UTC
