Is it that they didn't know or that they purposefully blinded themselves as todays liberals do?
So, tell me this. If you had no way to fight back, had a family to look after, and you knew that if you spoke up you, and your ENTIRE family (even extended) would be sent to a camp and exterminated. Your wife and daughters would be sent to concentration camps, and used by the soldiers for whatever they desire, and you would just be shot with no trial. Could YOU knowingly send yourself to your death, and subject your wife and children to such a life?
You could flee.
many were blind because they didn't ask, and only followed the crowd.
Is that your argument for what's happening today?
that is my argument for WHY it is happening again.
60% of all humans are sheep and will follow whatever they are told if they view the person telling them as a person of authority.
I think we're getting close to the heart of the matter.
So where I come from is that, the modern day ignorance is no excuse, just as it wasn't back then.
I think people knew very well where it was headed, and they said "As long as it's not my family on the chopping block, it's fine."
I forget the name of the study, but over 50% of people will kill someone if they are told to do it by someone they view as an authority figure. Only 40% will stop once they see that they are hurting someone, and still only 10% out right refused.
sadly you are completely wrong. Ask 100 people, random from the street, if they know who their current 2 state senators are, then ask them if they have seen even 1 Biden speech. After those first 2 questions, ask them if they voted Trump or Biden. You may be shocked to find that only about 10/100 will be able to Answer the first question correctly.
I would honestly say about 60% of all people are low information voters. They vote for whoever has the biggest name. Out of those 60% I bet 50% are so low information they didn't even know what either candidates platform was.
That says less than you think, in my opinion. You don't have to know who your senators are to see the hate these people have.
so figure 30% of all voters have no idea who or what they are voting for.
no but it will show you how much the AVERAGE person knows about their government.
if you want change the questions to "do you believe in X bill that says Y(y being a complete lie about the bill in question)" then say that _____ candidate supported this bill. I bet you that even if you make up the most ridiculous lies for both that people will say yes or no based on who supports it even though they have no idea who or what that candidate actually supports.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this. There is something to be said for background knowledge. For the things you experience on a day-to-day basis.
Everyone has fanatical SJW members in the family. They can see what this cult has done to them. And they get uncomfortable, but they still won't look into it. They still just shut up and listen when these people start spewing things they already know to be nonsense. And I think the Germans of the 1930's had the exact same experience.
well you would be amazed at how many people don't know or don't care about politics or even watch the news.
which is the core of the issue
There is something much deeper than politics at work here.
No it's not. It's culture. Politics runs downstream from culture.
probably, but idk what it is, or what the goal behind it is.
The goal for totalitarians is always to destroy culture first, because culture is what keeps people from committing atrocities.
maybe it is just time for Rome to fall... but I hope not, because I love the USA far more than I loved living in Germany before I moved here in 2009 🙂
I hope it isn't either. But even if it is, that doesn't mean we give up on it. Even though we disagree, it's been a pleasure talking with you.
good chat 🙂
have a good day!
You too!
Sometimes if you do the colorization right, you can make 80 year old photos look like they were taken yesterday
@Clemens Konig, you have thrown in so many pictures that I could not possibly have the time to react to every one individually as they probably deserve to be. So instead of reacting to every single one, I will simply say "Thank you."
Also, Panzer IV was better than Tiger IMO, but the Tigers doubtless would have been better had they been tested properly instead of being rushed straight to the battlefield. The brits tried to do the same thing with the Firefly, and we had to tell them "Sorry, you can't actually fit crew members into the tank if the gun is that big. How about you go back to the drawing board?"
