im not honestly suprised because the guy who told me this is a weeb that just watched this thing called Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress

2021-01-27 19:13:03 UTC

what was his argument and why is it invalid?

2021-01-27 19:13:19 UTC

I'm not a Mortar expert (believe it or not)

2021-01-27 19:14:05 UTC

Basically, because in the anime, they were capable of mounting what looks like a Karl Gerat Mortar on a train car, and fire it at an infested castle, its apparently better then the real version which was mounted on a slow moving chassis

2021-01-27 19:14:42 UTC

im trying to find either an image or a video of the anime scene he's referencing

2021-01-27 19:14:44 UTC

oh so the vehicle is faster therefore the mortar is better

2021-01-27 19:15:15 UTC

but thats the thing, the real karl gerat was only on the tracked chassis to be able to traverse

2021-01-27 19:15:25 UTC

it was still also transported by train as well

2021-01-27 19:17:10 UTC

he then went on to say that because this is a timeline where projectiles are driven by pressurized steam rather then gunpowder, its supposedly better then one driven by gunpowder

2021-01-27 19:17:55 UTC

if that thing fired from a train id expect the train cart to legit break from the pressure

2021-01-27 19:18:35 UTC

thats what i said, and he says, "BuT iT's StEaM pOwErEd"

2021-01-27 19:19:12 UTC

but the motherfucker has the gall to tell me that the one in the anime had better range then the real one

2021-01-27 19:19:21 UTC

steam wouldn't have the force like it

2021-01-27 19:19:23 UTC

im literally twitching in anger rn

2021-01-27 19:19:29 UTC

exactly

2021-01-27 19:20:33 UTC

and with steam it takes longer to load and fire

2021-01-27 19:20:41 UTC

so like no

2021-01-27 19:20:45 UTC

even then the train and the gun were destroyed after only firing one shot because of the damn zombies overheating the gun, which proceeded to explode after the idiot commander decided firing the gun while the barrel was directly blocked was a good idea

2021-01-27 19:21:10 UTC

welp i got to go

2021-01-27 19:21:16 UTC

cya then

2021-01-27 19:22:25 UTC

just use the excuse: ANIME IS NOT REALITY

2021-01-27 19:22:44 UTC

it'll either shut him up or make him mad which is funny

2021-01-27 19:23:51 UTC

i did, and now hes saying that im bringing uneccesary shit because i cant win an argument with him

2021-01-27 19:23:53 UTC

bruh

2021-01-27 19:27:43 UTC

lmao

2021-01-27 19:28:12 UTC

say japan can't use mortars. they've had a bad history with bombs

2021-01-27 19:28:21 UTC

<:dogekek:726878872607653918>

2021-01-27 19:30:17 UTC

Im also still laughing at him bcs of the fact it literally only fired one shot

2021-01-27 19:30:30 UTC

AHAHAHAHAHA

2021-01-27 19:32:18 UTC

This “logic” was a great way to giggle at someone’s stupidity...but he’s the type that’s “never wrong”

2021-01-27 19:39:52 UTC

I DID IT!!!

2021-01-27 19:40:06 UTC

I finally found an image of the gun they were using to shell the castle

2021-01-27 19:40:47 UTC

Boom

2021-01-27 19:42:27 UTC

hoy cow that's a mortar?

2021-01-27 19:42:49 UTC

I thought mortars were smaller...

2021-01-27 19:43:06 UTC

the karl Gerat is huge

2021-01-27 19:43:13 UTC

this is a siege mortar

2021-01-27 19:43:39 UTC

well that's an argument in and of itself. way too big to be reasonable in most situation

2021-01-27 19:45:00 UTC

in the series, it makes sense to have this thing, because they were trying to use it to destroy an infested castle

2021-01-27 19:46:29 UTC

what also made it more durable is because part of the disease that turns people into zombies, is that as it progresses, eventually you hit a point where the bodies are interconnected and broken down in to this sort of metal mesh that runs throughout the entire castle
