But, yes. He saw the plates.
Can I go be a productive person now? Jesus himself said that you need a job.
Go for it.
Go ahead
I need you to explain this to me
When Lehi left Jerusalem, according to the Book of Mormon, his group consisted of fewer than 20 people. Yet 19 years later the people had so prospered and multiplied in the Promised Land that they built a temple of which the “manner of construction was like unto the temple of Solomon: and the workmanship thereof was exceeding fine” (2. Ne. 5:16).
Looking at what the Bible says about the construction of Solomon’s temple, we find that it took 30,000 Israelites, 150,000 hewers of stone and carriers, 3,300 supervisors (I Kings 5:13-16) and about seven years to build it (See also I Kings 6).
And how many people could Lehi have had in his group after 19 years?
The book further tells that in less than 30 years after arriving on this continent, they had multiplied so rapidly that they even divided into two nations. Even the most rapid human reproduction could only have resulted in a few dozen in that brief time, and most of them still would be infants and children and about one-third older people.
Not only did they divide into two nations, but throughout the book, about every few years, they had devastating wars that killed thousands (i.e., Alma 28:2).
How did they build a temple like manner like Solomon and was able to split into two nations?
Where does it specify the number of people?
We know about the size of HIS family, there were already groups there before him.
And there were people with him when he left
But didn't he claimed the founder of Mormonism?
Lehi didn't
Where does Lehi specify the number of people?
I legit want to know
The plates of lehi are presumed lost in the 116 pages that were stolen
You know the Mormon book more than me but I did read somewhere it said 20 people left with him
Don't remember where exactly though
Question: is there any part of the BOM that is false?
Objectively, of course.
All of it according to some people
I see way too many holes in the Mormon doctrine and there too many unanswered questions.
Its because it doesn't say
Yes, but im asking objectively. Is there any single part of the BOM, no matter how small, that it states something wrong?
Nephi 1 or 2 something
I have a link to a website that addresses the scripture about the temple of Solomon that you are referring to.
It does i once thought Mormons was the way but when I got into it I left immediate it didn't feel right and none of there teaching made sense
You’re saying that they are wrong, correct?
The error was corrected in a footnote
What was the error?
It was almost the exact same as another little error in the bible, where it says that lord hardened the persons heart, Pharoh or Laban in this case
Oh.
So then here are my two cents: As apostles of Christ we understand that the Bible, our book of teaching, is living and active word of God. Being as such, it has to have no wrong teaching or saying in it. So then taking from that, if the BOM is supposedly an extension of the teachings of Jesus Bar-Jonah, then it must also be living and active, and therefore true. For God is Truth, and cannot exist in wrong.
Aye.
For me i asked this question to Mormons and they seemed to not be able to answer and many more questions and reason why I left the idea of being a Mormons
“If God was as man is, does that mean there was a God before Him?”“Then where did life start?“Who was the first God? How did He become a God?”
Yes, but if the BOM has even a minor wrong, can it still be God’s spoken Truth?
The bible also has the error
Which error?
Where it says that god had hardened the phaorhs heart
But actually did not
How did he not?
The Harden of heart is because of his jealousy of God and how powerful God was and because of God's power he hardened his heart
That what I think it means when God harderns someone's heart.
It was corrected or explained
