You dont newd to wait a year to be baptized, you can do it the day you want to convert to christianity, if catholics are making you wait that just wrong

2021-02-17 07:04:01 UTC

Have you been baptized before?

2021-02-17 07:04:17 UTC

im not sure, I'll ask my dad

2021-02-17 07:04:18 UTC

Well, hey. If he wants to become Catholic, that's his choice.

2021-02-17 07:04:34 UTC

Go to the priest and he should direct you to classes you have to take

2021-02-17 07:04:57 UTC

Yeah ik but I dont agree with catholics on many things

2021-02-17 07:05:46 UTC

I got baptized in the catholic church

2021-02-17 07:05:49 UTC

As far as I know you don’t have to wait but they want to make sure you know what Catholicism is before you convert so that you know what the beliefs are beforehand so you aren’t surprised later on

2021-02-17 07:06:05 UTC

Well, neither do I. But I think they have a point on the requirements of Discipline. I think that's something that many branches of Christianity have lost, to their detriment.

2021-02-17 07:06:21 UTC

ik that if you are about to die they will speed up the process

2021-02-17 07:06:26 UTC

Like what?

2021-02-17 07:07:16 UTC

I’m Catholic so if you have any questions just dm me but for now I’m off to bed

2021-02-17 07:07:30 UTC

Ok goodnight

2021-02-17 07:08:20 UTC

Hmm still doesn't make sense

2021-02-17 07:08:29 UTC

Well, think of the length of their services, the process of the services, the kneeling and the standing. Remembering all of that takes a good bit of dedication, meaning you really have to *want* to be a Christian. And those who are willing to do the work to become a Christian often make the best Christians in my opinion.

2021-02-17 07:10:12 UTC

Well at my church we have it in the morning from 9-12 and at night we have it at 6-8 we sing, pray alot and have messages.

2021-02-17 07:10:57 UTC

Well, hold on there. I wasn't trying to denigrate your branch or denomination. There is no need to jump to it's defense.

2021-02-17 07:11:30 UTC

I didn't realize I was being defensive but ok

2021-02-17 07:11:44 UTC

is a catholic school just a normal school that also teaches catholic stuff?

2021-02-17 07:12:10 UTC

I do not know, I have never attended a Catholic School.

2021-02-17 07:13:00 UTC

But one of the reasons I dont like catholics is because they pray to mary, John ect so they can pray to God for us but the bibles states this.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
John 14:6

2021-02-17 07:14:05 UTC

Yes, I do disagree with their idea of intercession. But something I have seen in many modern churches is a hollow faith in which there are no works.

2021-02-17 07:14:16 UTC

You do not see that with the Catholics.

2021-02-17 07:14:46 UTC

I am not saying that about your branch, simply that it does not seem to be the problem with Catholics.

2021-02-17 07:15:59 UTC

Also I hear that Catholics pray to the sun-God

2021-02-17 07:16:19 UTC

?

2021-02-17 07:16:26 UTC

I have seen no evidence of such, and I have been to many Catholic Masses.

2021-02-17 07:18:07 UTC

Also: you may attend a catholic mass and voice your concerns. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I've had many sunday brunches with Catholics after Mass and discussed theology at length with them.

2021-02-17 07:19:11 UTC

thank you guys this was a nice conversation

2021-02-17 07:19:35 UTC

2021-02-17 07:20:01 UTC

2021-02-17 07:20:20 UTC

Catholic believe that they need to do works to be save, and that there works saves them I talk to a server of catholics thats where I get this from

2021-02-17 07:20:23 UTC

Goodnight Lads

2021-02-17 07:21:15 UTC

Yes, and I believe that's where they get things wrong. But I would rather have a world with Catholics in it than without.

2021-02-17 07:21:29 UTC

G'night.

2021-02-17 07:22:00 UTC

James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only

2021-02-17 07:22:25 UTC

Indeed.

2021-02-17 07:22:32 UTC

Well pentecostal is definitely different. But I guess depends on which pentecostal church you go to.

2021-02-17 07:22:32 UTC

That’s at least why I’ve been taught why we believe that
