I don't know how in their right mind they thought "hey, convicted murderers should also get a stimulus check" considering they aren't actively taking part in the economy and weren't impacted by job losses from covid, yet if you made more than 80k a year (and still paid the higher taxes from it), you don't get a stimulus check

Right, and it wasn't like "oh, they did their time, they are back on the street trying to find a job". No... they are flat out giving people currently serving their sentences, regardless of crime, regardless of the punishment (life in prison, death row, etc...), a stimulus check.

and really, it isn't government giving me their money, it's our taxes they're giving back to us. Really they should just either give it to small business owners as a relief to overhead costs of keeping business open during the pandemic, or just flat out cut back on the taxes for everyone.

granted, the 1,400 is "peanuts" to me as nancy pelosi would say, but I think it would be a world of difference for small business owners if it all went to them instead

The stimulus was a joke to begin with. The people that got their $600/week covid check shouldn't have gotten a dime. As for me I never got anything but my hours bumped up at 50/week mandatory and voluntary beyond that. As for the essential workers that is who should have gotten the damn 600/week. This whole covid bullshit mess it just that.

@Prayboy I know a few people who never held jobs before that got that damn unemployment. Like 4-600 a week. Ridiculous. While the rest of us fucking work.

Like 26k a year. I know it's supposed to help those who became unemployed... but damn. Gotta make sure they actually had a job they lost.

Or like I mentioned before, give it to small business owners that have that overhead of keeping people employed even though their business is impacted and they had a decrease in revenue
