russia kinda embraced autarkism after 2014
Food wise yeah
russia is stuck as a majorly resource exporting country
for example they became net exporter of agricultural products after many decades of soviet union which imported grain
yeah
it started lessening the reliance
so you agree on my point
Russia can be autarky right now
russia is building their own chips and such but obviously production is all outsourced
but it's simply not profitable for them
so they dont do it
and the chips are special snowflakes nobody uses
1. reduce consumption in society
2. adopt based neo-spartan social policies
they bought an ARM license a few years ago though
3. become a chad russian empire
boom
the russians
have their own chipsets
for pcs rn
graphics cards
I don't think the government would survive proper autarky if they tried to do it immediately. Gradual lessening of dependence and increasing the standing/influence of the state internationally seems better
This doesn't mean the food stuff or whatever is bad
self-sufficiency with water and food is the absolute essentials any country should have I think
Then again it's hard to measure self sufficiency in food
If you look at export vs. imports you don't look at calories
Nor potential calories that could be grown on cash crops
yes i need bannans
so make
aritifical
Then there's waste
bannana farms
well I do think they usually do the we have x people they need y calories a day, so we need z
or just the statistical well people x potatoes a year
well thats when shit is lit really
like you just want to survivie
otherwise you can have diverse nutritious diet
if britain in 1930s can figure out that they are self-sufficient we can do it today
noone can handle economy like us Iranians <:troll:795676641450917888>
although granted people are getting dumber
