lol
it looks like its entirely sparse suburbs
and it doesnt looks like theres any farming going on there, probably for a good reason
another one we have considered is Mossy Rock WA
or any town in that valley
interesting choice
We gotta think about the economic opportunities if this thing is going to have any legs
we can grow food pretty much anywhere if we're in a good grow zone
this is good tho, it's good we disagree somewhat on this, and that we have different things we're looking for
the reason I like it is because its not very populated, has great natural obstacles, lots of freshwater and timber as well as a few dams
it's going result in making a better decision in the end
those are important considerations
It does look like a place you could go full Varg
which is where I eventially want to end up
downside is its a bit expensive
but its probably expensive for a reason, like the good climate and rainfall
full Varg?
oh right
that dude
Yeah you know Varg Vikernes
he's always preaching to people to live a more traditional lifestyle away from collapsing civilization, have lots of kids, become self-reliant, etc.
some people here have talked about wanting to go full log cabin wilderness survivalits. It's not my cup of tea but I do want to accomodate them
Yeah that's why I feel like moving next to a small city (pop 25k -50k or so) would be best
I want to be self reliant, but i like some of the benefits of civilization
because you would attract people who want to be part of the community, but want to be more isolated, they can just move further away
25-50k is big though
it can be lower
like 10k
Sandpoint is a good place for that
you cant really have influence of a town that big
I think it's possible
it depends on how big you dream, how charismatic you are
it's not just about raw numbers
it's how effectively we participate
I have no qualms running for public office
the most perfect town is Hood River OR, but its way too expensive
why is that?
the environment there looks really nice
very isolated too
it does
there are a lot of great places
