I never understood why enviromentalism was a liberal thing

The major reason was to make the left look like the "good guys".

It's a matter of method, of aproach.

there is preservationism, which is the right wing aproach to the same idea.

You also had a lot of people coming over from the 50s who had to keep a social reputation and be normal.

And that new normal was pushed by the media and such... rope culture has an article on it.

I like to read nytimes comments because it gives a sense of what the opposition thinks.

I was reading about an op ed for democratic candidates in 2020 and they're all proclaiming that they should keep doing the same policies. That Bernie Sanders is such a great populist their side will be a victor, yet they forget he couldn't even win the election among his own base
