She distributed first
Then removed the denominator
X = h/3(a+b)
3X(a+b) = h
a+b = h/3X
a = (h/3X)-b
there you go
oh hey it's quicker
same answer tho
wait I see where you went wrong
moving (a+B) to the Left hand side
did you divide
you didn't
I multiplies both sides by that value
h(a+b) needs to be moved to the LHS by dividing h(a+b) to remove (a+b)
you would be multiplying (a+b) * (a+B)
which would not remove it from the right hand side
divide instead
try again
if I divided I would get
X/3(a+b) = h/(3(a+b))^2
no that's what you'd get if you multiplied
try again
please do it on paper
I see it fine
and it's wrong
ok
well il stay wrong i guess
@The Gwench what's that equation for
it's a simple solution
but has many tempting wrong answers
may I ask what math course you are in
None
you're done with math?
i'm not missing any
there's no need for them
after I remove their coefficient
order of operations
I can do it with the parenthesis and still get the right answer if you want
multiplication first
you should know this
