I can attest to the changing of engineering to accommodate construction within those siesmic zones. I have done civil construction of utilities up and down the West Coast including Alaska
I know of an "electricity" technology to predict earthquakes 24-48 hrs advance. loads of time to prep a nuke plant and billions of people. maybe we will wake to our inherited gifts of nature but kind of pipe dreaming still in 2019, here's hoping.

I wonder how long it will take the Main Stream media to find something to criticize the Pres about the Bagdaddi elimination mission. Some hints of "well it doesn't mean much" from ABC and the fear mongering of "doesn't mean ISIS will still come back big" from CNN.
