.300 hasn't even been around that long i think, .458 SOCOM has which would be the better choice imo. The point they are going for is the sbr performance, or at least that what national defense said
but that wouldn't make sense if they are rebarreling sr25s
@TwinVickers becuase its not 6.5 special
Its creedmoor lol
it's impossible to read one article for facts anymore, journalism has been overpowered by blogging
Its more who the person the info came from
that's USSOCOM
the one I read was about Army
......
Thats the new office of procurement request for infantry weapons
the article says USSOCOM, i'm not saying you are wrong
i'm saying that whatever I read was specific about army.
this doesn't mean you need to do "....." and reaffirm your view
it means we have different sources
No i agreed with you.
The army put out for selection process a 6.5mm in an infantry rifle
6.5 spc is one option floating around
ok, i misread that then. apologies
6.5 creedmoor is pointless
who wants to get rocked
Like literally pointless to adopt
6.5 grendal as a standard issue makes sense...
But creedmoor as a sniper rifle𤣠give me a fucking breakš¤£
Like your marginal improvement over 7.62 NATO is pointless as a sniper...When you should be using a fucking .300 win mag in the first place
A .338 magnum lapua is a good sniper
@Duke of Mecklenburg late reply: 6.5 CM being useless
Not really, decent ballistics, better CE, half the recoil of 7.62. Also helps streamline military supply if they switch to a 6.5 infantry rifle. So in that it does have some logic to it.
6.5 creedmoor will NEVER be a standard issue infantry rifle cartridge
6.5 Grendal might
Thats what i was saying
Army has an open contract for a 6.5mm round for an infantry rifle
Why use the 6.5 as a sniper round? Its mediocre as all hell...the 300wm is already the standard sniper cartridge which has double the effective range
The grendal and the creedmoor use different bullets tho
The grendal doesnt use the 143
Grain
It uses 120
Its not ment to snipe. Its a designated marksmens round
The creedmoor is a definite improvement over the .308, but still
I could understand if it's used in an AR-10 platform
