The EU reminding Poland that to be part of the European Union, you must have an independent Justice system. Not one that swears allegiance to the state nor the EU, but to the laws and constitution of each country.

The cold war wasn't that long ago. So when they made a court Poland had to use the judges available. Which means using communists. It is not unreasonable for a nation that is not communist to not want communists in their judiciary.......

Outside of their general political leanings there are other reasons for the EU to clamp down on Poland. They're growth rate is like 4% and they actually do contribute military spending at NATO levels. Maybe they can't into space yet but Polan lookin kinda stronk.
