No, it's the culture of the people.
Who cares who's in charge?
The system and ruler are second to all of that
the culture of western europeans is to surrender and captiulate
Well I’d rather not have a Democrat unless they are liberal (in the sense of classical)
But like yah I get what you mean like a decentralized system
You're still thinking in 2 dimensions
Well I’m over simplifying how gov works. Like we have 3 branches composed of the executive, legislative and judicial. From there the executive vetos and has executive orders. Judicial interprets laws and is the Supreme Court, and legislative are the two houses with House of Representatives(population) and congress. Congress can pass bills in a 2/3rd majority but can have their bills vetoed by the president where it’s sent back to the house in which case I forgot how but I think they can pass it with a majority of something without president
And from there you have the states which have their own rights and those break down further
I know how the govt works
I live here
Same man, but I’m a Texan where the fucking Texas constitution while great in regard to rights, is a fucking mess since they didn’t get it framed while writing it
It’s hard to read is what I mean
But it shows rights so that’s okay I guess but they Amendment chain the fuck out of it
What I'm suggesting is, that the system of a society is entirely irrelevant.
The US could be under a dictatorship tomorrow, and nothing would change in every day life
I'll even go so far as to say that a governmental system is a reflection of the culture it rules over
Yah I’d agree. Like despite liberals and progressives, in the US or especially in Texas we have a lot of republicans (in the sense of conservative but not how it’s been defined by the left) and libertarians which are alright and if anything I much like the libertarians way more then the progressives. Like libertarians and republicans will at least defend freedom (up until they sign away our rights like during the bush administration when they had the Patriot act)
Idk I think there’s problems on both sides of the argument but I feel the Left poses the bigger issue to our democracy
Lol you gotta look past the party labels altogether
Bigger picture
Yah I’d agree I’m more a centrist then anything else so I don’t feel particularly drawn to either party besides the environment (like the right knows how to meme and have a good time)
Radical centrist?<:thronk:441701565607444482>
Freedom of speech extremist<:thronk:441701565607444482>
I have no idea what a radical centrist would be, except a meme
Idk I wanna be a radical centrist because it sounds like a contradiction unless you were instituting things by force
I mean, aren't we all?
I guess by the progressive standard but then again everything looks right wing from the far left
Unless you're an anarchist who refuses to interact in politics, we're all using political violence
By voting, you are exercising violence over your neighbors
Where do anarchist fit into things? Like aren’t they kind of aids
No
Well, which anarchists?
Like there’s different anarchists but some or aids and some are alright or more memeable
Non hierarchical? Or anti-statist?
move to <#372513679964635138> you niggers
Oof
Idk what would be a difference between the two?
Aren’t states hierarchies by definition?
It's late, and this conversation is too low-IQ lol
Honestly it just started by shitposting
Yes, but in the wrong channel
