I guess there's two things I'll address

- My understanding is that the inaccurate translation of the Treaty was an accident, not malicious. Hence the framing of the relationship between the Crown and the Maori tribes as a toxic relationship is somewhat inaccurate, perhaps a (at the time, anyway) misunderstood relationship is more fitting.
- I'm not inherently opposed to a greater emphasis on Maori culture, but like with the situation in South Africa, how it is reached matters.

hbu?

2019-10-23 01:00:10 UTC

Also, her culture IS inferior to British culture.

2019-10-23 01:00:26 UTC

I do find it pretty interesting how the majority of words are just transliterated English

2019-10-23 01:00:29 UTC

including names

2019-10-23 01:00:45 UTC

Transliterated?

2019-10-23 01:01:12 UTC

Yeah so the name Anne-Marie is Rangi-Mari

2019-10-23 01:01:25 UTC

2019-10-23 01:05:45 UTC

But let's face it: People like her don't want to actually 'decolonize'.

They're just racist against whites, and want to reap all the benefits of becoming westernized.

2019-10-23 01:07:55 UTC

No more antibiotics for them

2019-10-23 01:07:59 UTC

*Decolonized*

At least American Indians have their own confederations, elected officials, systems of law, courts, and law enforcement, and are buying up land to call their own
