@Antiboom You're not wrong, but that's irrelevant to your statement
Yeah ik changed it to a better argument
Good afternoon my progressive and liberal friends
Fine
đ
@Antiboom It's a statement, not an arguement, you're right.
As far as members of the parties
At this point the titles are just that, rather than reflecting the positions that were held 150 years ago
@Antiboom The party names state EXACTLY what their position is.
Democrats want democracy. Republicans want a republic.
Uh
Yes
I meant as far as the âsupported x therefore badâ argument goes
Itâs bs
@Antiboom yeah but i unironically used to get told daily that trump and the Republicans used to be the KKK and slavers.
Republicans tend to identify quite closely with the stated platforms of the GOP proper.
It uncovers a deeper ideological nature of their platform @Antiboom
That's why I was saying that again

But youâre a nazi

Controversial opinion: kids shouldn't be killed regardless of race
I disagree. When a political party as a platform endorses an abhorrent position, and you support that party, you are also supporting that position, even if only by proxy.
@Ondsinet disagree
@EnderOctanus if they claim to have changed their position as of 70 years ago does that still apply?
Native Americans can get yeeted
If the Democrats openly supported slavery and you aligned yourself with the Democratic Party, you are not exactly denouncing slavery, an extreme position to hold.
Immigration is slavery <:makes_you_think:382980749780844554>
Is it not?
It's better than slavery
You're not responsible for them
I mean they are literally importing second class citizens.
Precisely
@Fitzydog cheaper yeah, they come to you instead of importing them from another country
Although Democrats are fighting to make it not quite slavery
