Speaking of which, I started college today (GI bill)
What arguments should I write my English papers on?
what are your most passionate arguments
write from the heart, and do kickass research
Toxic masculinity, and access to firearms as a human right (lol)
I did get to cover Fahrenheit 451 in AP English IV for HS. But the specific book wasn't mandated
find another name for "toxic masculinity"
of course.
if you want to argue that it effects society negatively
The crisis of our young men
find a way to discuss it that doesnt blanket-generalize just normal dudes that work out and value competition
The AP courses I took in high school focused on a pragmatic approach to essay writing, since there's the time constraint on the tests. When I got around to taking ENG102 in community college, I just wrote what I knew about the best, which was WWII tanks
if you go hard-opposite to the healthy version of masculinity, you get what you guys are calling soyboys
@Legiondude Our class is focusing on arguing current events
its once again, lack of middle ground
if its the argument you care most about and it can be relevant to your curiculum i would say go for it
@M4Gunner I might bring up the point of a lack of purpose for the male mind
in the 21st century
you could always pick something more closely tailored to the course material
Do you have any counterarguments that you can encapsulate and rebut thoroughly?
oh. that makes me sick to hear. please do.
i cant think of a more depressing predicament
hm?
``lack of purpose for the male mind``
Oh, yeah.
that is a horrifying statement, and ive seen a lot of different kinds of depression
i would never take this over any of them
HMU if you need an edit, I'm much better than i type on boards 😃
<--formerly paid parttime marketing blogger 🤢
lol ewww
do anything for money
😉
ill do this one pro-bono though
Thanks, I think I'm good though
Okay but if you share it with the board later ill be interested to read it
are you going to a military-centered school or is it like a scholarship at a regular uni
It's a community college, but it's paid for from my military service
Okay. your english/writing classes will probly have the worst peers as classmates, but you could probly guess that
find out if your teacher is radicalized and keep it in mind
Yeah, but they're a bunch of Bros, buttholes, and smart asses
fun group
