You can totally be in favor of a terrorist group.

2018-07-05 06:06:26 UTC

He's a member

2018-07-05 06:06:34 UTC

How is that acceptable?

2018-07-05 06:06:53 UTC

The question isn't if it's legal or not the question is whether it should be

2018-07-05 06:07:05 UTC

And frankly this is unacceptable

2018-07-05 06:07:18 UTC

Because you don’t have evidence that he’s anything but a supporter. Especially given that antifa has no membership structure.

2018-07-05 06:07:21 UTC

ehhh....

2018-07-05 06:07:54 UTC

So as long as there is no evidence that I'm a member I'm totally allowed to carry an ISIS battle flag and sing Jihadi songs because fuck all logic

2018-07-05 06:08:04 UTC

YES

2018-07-05 06:08:15 UTC

That’s 100% legal

2018-07-05 06:08:18 UTC

Except you can't

2018-07-05 06:08:23 UTC

Disturbing the peace

2018-07-05 06:08:29 UTC

Misdemeanor offenses

2018-07-05 06:08:39 UTC

the flag will get confiscated

2018-07-05 06:08:54 UTC

and u be put o n a watchlist

2018-07-05 06:09:04 UTC

But it’s not the act itself that is illegal is what I’m saying

2018-07-05 06:09:13 UTC

Gee as if that changes shit

2018-07-05 06:09:33 UTC

Well technically raping kids in one area is fine legally so it's acceptable morally

2018-07-05 06:09:52 UTC

I’m not saying it’s morally acceptable whatsoever

2018-07-05 06:10:10 UTC

Then why exactly are you defending this behavior?

2018-07-05 06:10:13 UTC

I’m just saying it’s legal. You asked why Berkeley’s mayor isn’t in prison.

2018-07-05 06:10:17 UTC

I answered why

2018-07-05 06:10:24 UTC

I asked why is he still in office

2018-07-05 06:10:49 UTC

Because people like him I guess

2018-07-05 06:10:49 UTC

But you implied he committed a crime given the context

2018-07-05 06:11:02 UTC

I implied no such thing

2018-07-05 06:11:22 UTC

I simply said there is a direct link between him and multiple terror groups

2018-07-05 06:11:35 UTC

Because we were talking about legal justice and you said that there wasn’t any in the case of Berkeley’s mayor

2018-07-05 06:11:46 UTC

That’s implying he committed a crime that there needs to be legal justice for

2018-07-05 06:11:58 UTC

His refusal to act during any antifa action shows that he is utterly corrupt

2018-07-05 06:12:13 UTC

He has done nothing while they have rampaged through the streets

2018-07-05 06:12:21 UTC

No corruption there bucko

2018-07-05 06:13:10 UTC

And I agree on a personal level, but I’m not sure I’d agree beyond a reasonable doubt (the legal standard).

2018-07-05 06:13:35 UTC

Again, I'm not disputing the legality of the situation.

2018-07-05 06:13:46 UTC

There's not exactly a legal ground for a crime being commited

2018-07-05 06:13:52 UTC

You seem to be missing the point here, I'm saying it's morally abhorrent not illegal

2018-07-05 06:14:48 UTC

But the original context was justice in the court system. At least we can agree it’s morally abhorrent, however.

2018-07-05 06:16:24 UTC

Also, just FYI, 4 years of mock trial have definitely made me wary of allowing my personal condemnations to influence my legal condemnations. That’s why I might seem stubborn. But I agree with you morally.

2018-07-05 06:16:41 UTC

If you're asking why the people of Berkely haven't kicked the Mayor out of office, it's because it's Berkely.

2018-07-05 06:17:02 UTC

the people of the community are sovereign, after all

2018-07-05 06:18:09 UTC

@Christopher I've done my fair share of mock trials as well (since I'm studying for law it would be stupid not to). However, venting online does lead to breaks in procedure at least on my end.
