Mar-vell is a (human-skin-tone) Kree (most kree are blue, long story)

through a backstory that shifts a bit each time, She got a duplicate of his powers

which are again, spaceflight superspeed superstrength and energy absorption and L A S E R B E A M S

she's pretty damn powerful in her newest incarnations as far as I can tell

and as for why her suit is green in parts of the trailer, green and blue are the kree military colours and she turns red and blue after defecting for earth
