Sinn fein is the party that wants a unified ireland, they are socialists
Sinn Fein used to be against EU but now support it
I guess money does buy power
Only if it's for sale <:makes_you_think:382980749780844554>
funny because most nationalist movements on these isles are left wing
SNP, plaid cymru, Sinn Fein
all nationalist and all left wing
and all pro european union
Europe tis a silly place
though I can't think of a nationalist party that is pro free market.
they all tend to lean left economically
Nationalism is usually more associated with the right.
yes because of the last century
>National socialism
Yes, we know the EU is a fascist meta-state
I hear Americans talking about nationalism but i think they mean more controls on immigration
No, we mean localized soverignty
when I speak of nationalism, for example, I mean civic nationalism
Nationalism should be about putting your citizens first; making sure they gave healthcare, education, and jobs.
That's lefti-nationalism
Bombing other countries and giving the rich tax breaks is anti-nationalist
Correct
yes
I dont think Americans are using the terminology right, then again they rarely do 😛
Which is what America does, often too
Nationalism should be about pride in ones nation, (not based on it's racial makeup) and to grant to all within the nation the ability of upward mobility and the choice to make something of ones self through hard work.
@Werlf I don't understand how we can explain these concepts so often, yet the Europeans still can't seem to grasp most of these concepts
@Fitzydog I think the European Bureaucracy really got to their heads...
>hard work
I think Americans use it synonymously with patriotism
Most Americans work hard and still can’t afford a $1,000 emergency
no I didn;t
