italians and greeks ripped it all off from the Etruscans anyway

etruscans btfo

2019-08-13 02:15:04 UTC

if they were so great then why did they get fucking rekt by the roman republic

2019-08-13 02:15:26 UTC

actually not really, modern day greeks and italians are both running around with 50% etruscan dna

2019-08-13 02:15:40 UTC

but who raped whom?

2019-08-13 02:16:06 UTC

I'm just going to assume there was rape

2019-08-13 02:16:06 UTC

I dunno what happen, but like when I see Etruscan frescoes and statues I stare at them and think my peoples

2019-08-13 02:16:52 UTC

muh assyrians

2019-08-13 02:17:05 UTC

@ikillu I thought Etruscans were just the forerunners of Romans ? they weren't ?

2019-08-13 02:17:11 UTC

no

2019-08-13 02:17:33 UTC

@Roderick seperate peeps, but I think somehow related common ancestry with both greeks and italians

2019-08-13 02:17:39 UTC

no one really knows

2019-08-13 02:18:05 UTC

>seperate peeps
genetically or just culturally ?

2019-08-13 02:18:09 UTC

both

2019-08-13 02:19:04 UTC

there are etruscans found in greece early on, same writing language Limnos Greece and a few other spots in even greece

2019-08-13 02:19:14 UTC

but if modern italians are 50% etruscan, ancient ones would be even moreso

2019-08-13 02:19:17 UTC

same time they were in central italy

2019-08-13 02:20:14 UTC

logically speaking, given the info above, I believe Etruscans can be labelled as the forerunners of Romans, partially at least

2019-08-13 02:20:29 UTC

greece too in a sense, they ripped off quite a bit from them

2019-08-13 02:21:11 UTC

Reminder that romans were globohomo twats

2019-08-13 02:22:40 UTC

I think Greeks have to do more with Minoans & Mycenaeans than with Estruscans
Not to deny any Estruscan influence, but I think Minoans & Mycenaeans influence and heritage is more supported by both genetic & archaeological evidence

2019-08-13 02:22:57 UTC

it's like this, west asian type farmers settled throughout europe 10,000 years ago, mostly in what is modern greece and italy, but they cut west through anatolia, then some branch went north and invaded both from the north down through the alps (aryans from the alps) but the farmers were aryans too in a sense, splu branch from the alp aryans

2019-08-13 02:23:05 UTC

Also

2019-08-13 02:23:14 UTC

Romans rebelled against estruscans

2019-08-13 02:23:20 UTC

they were essentially colonized by them

2019-08-13 02:23:37 UTC

@Roderick minoans and etruscans I would guess were the farmer types who cut west not through the alps

2019-08-13 02:24:16 UTC

mycenaens were the ones who cut through the alps down and then conquered the minoans or merged with them

2019-08-13 02:24:27 UTC

just a guess

2019-08-13 02:25:05 UTC

@ikillu agree....I once read a study concluding that the genetic forerunners of Eropean peoples diverged from a Levantine group severl thousand years after that Levantine group diverged from an Arabian one

2019-08-13 02:25:22 UTC

phoenicians influence too

2019-08-13 02:25:40 UTC

sardinians I would say are the farmer types too

2019-08-13 02:25:57 UTC

and they're somewhat far removed from italians and greeks, like they're own thing

2019-08-13 02:26:11 UTC

Phoenicians are late
I would suggest using "Natufian" as a more accurate term describing early inhabitants of the Levant

2019-08-13 02:26:12 UTC

We wuz kangz talk when?

2019-08-13 02:27:11 UTC

sardinians look 100% greek islander to me, and south east aegean islander, but genetically they're not close
