I think its mainly due to all the horrendous crimes they did White Christians are specifically blamed for it instead.

For example. Slave trade. Public opinion is that it was mainly white people that enslaved everyone. When in fact it was africans, jews and muslims that created the whole idea.

Thing is, every single race,creed or tribe has in fact been a victim of slavery of some form. It actually still continues today even in the United states.
