Before the 1990’s recession even more, our structural unemployment was 3% in the 1980’s and now it’s 8-9% and only going up

2019-04-20 18:35:47 UTC

But at least we have smartphones and pumpkin lattes

2019-04-20 18:36:47 UTC

The big thing to not join into eu was cause we now can't devaluate our money artificially like we used to with markka which was sometimes used (according to some but not by others) quite well in compact against depression

2019-04-20 18:37:19 UTC

The arguments for future economic prospects are insane. Like vr glasses and petri dish meat will replace heavy industries

2019-04-20 18:37:34 UTC

I mean didn't Kekkonen start emergency council when something like 50k was unemployed?

2019-04-20 18:38:25 UTC

Economic clusters form around industry not services. Services complement industry but don’t build it

2019-04-20 18:38:50 UTC

@Finno kekkonen aka president for life

2019-04-20 18:39:08 UTC

Chosen once without elections

2019-04-20 18:39:37 UTC

Dissolved the parliament because national coalition got too good of a result

2019-04-20 18:39:47 UTC

Greens:" let's ban cars and lumber industry"
Fuck, I'm going into Häme to study as metsätalousinsinööri so greens thinking Finland would survive without logging makes me twice as furious.

2019-04-20 18:39:55 UTC

Note crisis

2019-04-20 18:40:30 UTC

I like the guy but he was a bit too finlandizationed

2019-04-20 18:41:25 UTC

He’s the epitome of Finlandization. Not necessarily the wrong choice but we could be more open about it

2019-04-20 18:41:48 UTC

I understand why it was done but not the radio silence

2019-04-20 18:42:33 UTC

Just tell who went regularly to tehtaankatu and I’ll leave you alone

2019-04-20 18:42:43 UTC

I want closure

2019-04-20 18:42:49 UTC

Nothing more

2019-04-20 18:43:09 UTC

Remember the incident when they carried the father of what is now finns party our of the room in his chair?

2019-04-20 18:43:47 UTC

When was that??

2019-04-20 18:43:51 UTC

Veikko Vennamo that is

2019-04-20 18:44:57 UTC

During period of Kekkonen but I don't remember exact year and as that's 25 years I need to check it

2019-04-20 18:45:35 UTC

In end of may 1974

2019-04-20 18:45:50 UTC

I was born in the 1990’s

2019-04-20 18:46:08 UTC

Can’t remember the 1970’s 😄

2019-04-20 18:46:18 UTC

Well I was born in 1998 but I've been reading

2019-04-20 18:48:02 UTC

What a legend

2019-04-20 18:50:34 UTC

He was really good speaker, the "people know/kyllä kansa tietää" kind, he started Finland small holders party (suomen pienviljelijäin puolue) after he got used about centrist party. That then changed into "Finlands countryside party/suomen maaseudun puolue (SMP) which then changed to be our known finns party

2019-04-20 18:50:42 UTC
2019-04-20 18:51:26 UTC

He indeed was a legend

2019-04-20 18:52:41 UTC

I think I'll translate that thing if I can be arsed

2019-04-20 19:07:56 UTC

In the public has also been recently mentioned of huge criminal currency shamming (only translation for keinottelu was speculation and that is not nearly negative enough) that has been involved supricing organizations/individuals, wouldn't it be already taken enough time to get order to even this situation. Why with monopoly rights having especially well managing Alkoholi liike (alcohol store, modern day alko) and Neste Oy (oil company) give to governments funds thousands of millions old markka (we have changed value of markka once or twice) less than especially alkoholi liike's current law especially should pay. Tax payers taxes surely are increased but this kind of state owned huge corporations are rolling in other folks money.

Wrong doers unfit to their tasks:
We have this opinion that if someone has been guilty of misusing his position during public services he should continuing from that unfit to such positions.
In last years we have unfortunately done vice versa. Some responsibility should be given to MPs election promises. Even normal people answer to their dishonesty in front of criminal laws. (laugh in background) but you don't want to answer (laugh continues), despite of that it feels like... Well ofcourse it's easy to laugh when you don't have responsibilities, yes....despite of that it feels like that those holding power in our country want to guarantee themselves days of sweet bread but offer to Finnish people, in the manner of Johannes Virolainen, sweat and blood. From Tšar Russia originating humility and praising of leading people seems also be in style.
Who will be most harmed of this current shortage policies? The government speaks about burdening those who can pay. But the experience in reality knows that those that suffer mostly from shortage are normal people caused by unemployment, layoffs, forced sellings, bankruptcy of small enterprises and lowered pays. Import regulation also puts material goods under the counter. For this all we have already serious, even in public and today's conversations mentioned even tho we're are just in start of the horse medication.

2019-04-20 19:37:10 UTC

And cause discord bugged out I'll not gonna continue from this for now

2019-04-20 19:54:26 UTC

By “shortage” do you mean “alijäämä”? The corresponding word for that would be “budget deficit” @Finno

2019-04-20 19:54:52 UTC

Aww shit

2019-04-20 19:56:12 UTC

Also what’s “horse medication”? “Konitohtori” or “käärmeöljy” ?

2019-04-20 19:56:39 UTC

“Lehmänkaupat” is “horse trading”

2019-04-20 19:57:25 UTC

Ah true, just didn't remember the English comparison and was worried that discord will delete the message a while I'm looking for correct translation (which it later did)

2019-04-20 19:59:46 UTC

Yeah translation of idioms is always very difficult because you have to find a corresponding one
