You just buy compatible smart light bulbs and swap your old ones out for those
Philips Hue White A19 60W Equivalent LED Smart Bulb Starter Kit (4 A19 White Bulbs and 1 Hub Compatible with Amazon Alexa Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07354SP1C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dzOSCbWYHMNQK
But if you have an echo plus then you don't need the hub
Those are the bulbs I have. But you could use the first link to get the bulbs and the hub for five bucks more. That's a good deal..then you can use an app on your phone to contorl the lights
Oh that's not as much work as I thought it would be
I use the Alexa built in hub to control them so I can use voice control
Can it accidentally misinterpret things said in the background? I think I read something about that sometimes
Well you have to say "Alexa"
Then it waits for a command
So if I say "turn off the kitchen lights" it does nothing
Some people said it can respond to Alex as well
But if I say "Alexa, turn off the kitchen lights" then it turns them off.
Which is somewhat more of a common name if said on TV and such
I had an echo for a long time. I didn't have any issues like that.
It might be fun to have one in the bedroom. 'Alexa, turn off the lights and play white noise'
Yeah it's convenient
It's also the best alarm clock
Loud
It's pretty good for music too even though it's not stereo, though you can pair two of them for stereo.
My favorite feature of the smart lights is being able to change the brightness and turn them off and on when I'm not home
If you always have to have the light switch set to on, the electricity bill would increase slightly, am I right?
I don't know
But if it does I believe it would be offset by the savings involved with being able to dim them and turn them off remotely.
How can she slap? HOW CAN SHE SLAP???
Uh... no.
How can she?
Your switch can be on constantly but another device in the circuit can control the amount of power coming from the circuit to it's child device(s), it can turn them off or slowly increase the power consumption. There is a very tiny amount being used to power the control device, but it's very low.
That a switch is on constantly doesn't mean there's power consumption
It's fun to watch people get rp'd on how sexist rape laws are
I feel better knowing there is a security system now
But yeah I hate that when a woman rapes a boy they don't say rape
I imagine some feminist making the argument that they shouldn't use the word raoe, because that would diminish what female victims go through.
That it isn't the same thing.
Right.
I hear from the kitchen "What the fuck!"
I go in..."What babe?"
"This baby food we just bought is expired!"
*checks date*
"Umm, babe, Nov 2019?"
