Actually, @MemyselfandI , I briefly researched, and it depends on which federal state you are in. It defaults to getting you into trouble for 10 days that your kid is not in a public or private school it is signed up in, and can go from 50€ per day to 2500 total, pending.
And of course, if it happens a lot, they might take your kids and put them into orphanages or foster care.
