Well actually the Muslims started that as they attacked Jerusalem first and then started to move into Europe. Which if it weren't for that "war" today, we would know nothing of Christianity and the Western world would've fallen.

anyway some countries in europe have conscription but ireland doesn't, our military is strictly peacekeeping forces. I don't think making an eu army is necessarily a bad thing but it depends on how it is implemented.
