two of the "wings" are really just aerodynamic struts that hold up the fan mechanisms

if youve ever seen a cantilever on an aircraft, its like the wings point slightly upwards

but theres one aircraft that has a reverse cantilever called the AV-8B Harrier

this one has one massive wing that curves down at both sides and sweeps forward rather than backwards

used for keeping the air trapped under the craft, same logic the harrier used

its super weird compared to most modern aircraft

its almost a triangle-ish shape from the top

the front winglets were required to generate even the slightest bit of lift, but it would be assisted by one of the 3 fans positioned just under and behind the cockpit

Now the design is starting to make more sense
