I don't think that's ever gonna happen
it depends
Google did give them a small kick in the ass
but it only helps areas that have at least one fiber optic internet provider
because Google did their Google Fiber shit, and in towns where they coexisted with Verizon, Verizon suddenly started offering gigabit internet for the same price
in my area, we have verizon, so that means I get cheap gigabit internet now
if the PS5 digital edition is even $400, I don't see MS winning this one
$300 is very competitive
but digi only?
not for me
I'm okay with digital only
but what stands out to me is that $300 is a good value until you consider that if the PS5 digital edition is $400, you're getting a much better system for your money
not even in the "only nerds care about specs sense"
in the "I have enough space to install a single Call of Duty game on my $300 console" sense
nah man, you're overestimating normoids
oh ok
ye, that 512 GB SSD is gonna fuck them so hard the second 200 GB installs become standard
lol
if I was a regular joe
I would buy a console for 300
it depends on how much money they have to work with
poor families will definitely get the $300 Xbox
assuming they don't get the $200 Switch Lite
yeah
like I know my sister and she'll definitely go for the $300 Xbox for my one nephew
which to be fair, aside from the storage space problem
that's all he needs
I don't think they care
they sort of do but it depends
they go, "$360 for an xbox with call of duty!??" UHHH YEAH IM THERE
New console
my nephew cares more about whether the console works than how good the games look because he grew up playing a half-broken wii on a 27" SD CRT so it all looks good
"WHAT THE NEW CONSOLE IS $300!?"
my other nephew cares more about exclusive games
That's a Christmas explosion
but my nephew who's like super into xbox and all of his friends are on xbox and so on and so forth, unless his friends switch to PS5 he'll end up with that $300 Xbox
because it's not like he has a TV that needs a series X
he's on one of those """1080p""" TVs they'd sell back in the mid 2010s that were actually 1360x768
good deal
