There is a really interesting chapter in Robert Greenes book 'The Laws of Human Nature' that talks about the dynamic of communism tearing apart communities in china - some historical accounts of the degrading of communities until they had essentially killed or kicked out everyone on the pretense of 'being a spy' until they could simply no longer function.

The social media platforms should have been regulated and in all honesty should have been wiped away. Social media is the down fall of humanity. So much hate and so much animosity without talking to real people. It has given power to those that can control 1000s of bots at one time. The MSM is at play with them and they need to be brought down and only tell the news with no opinion at all. This in my opinion has been a horrible negative to society
yeah the manipulation of it is bad - but i think we should still try and keep the tools and capabilities. We just gotta get smarter with it, and as you said figure out the legalities and limits etc.
