A good solid difference between the Romans and the Police department is that the Roman's hung people on a cross because the majority said so. Kinda sounds like cancle culture. The police department may be a bit corrupt just like any organization like the government or even the school district, but the one who is arrested is entitled the right to a speedy trial and cannot be tried more than once. There's also evidence in the court room. Not a mob of angry people.
